At the last part of acknowledgement of newly published “Atomic Ranch: Midcentury Interiors” book, the author says “For those ardent Ranchers who’ve been eagerly anticipating this volume, hope it’s all that you expected and more.” I am one of those “ardent Ranchers” and this book is beyond my expectation and much more! I was just so thrilled when I finally received my copy – I read cover to cover. This volume is extra special to me, because one of the houses featured here belong to my dear friend.
Atomic Ranch: Midcentury Interiors showcases eight fantastic homes across the United States. These homes are great examples of mid-century modern in different styles: traditional ranch, split-level, rambler, or modernist. Writer Michelle Gringeri-Brown and photographer Jim Brown walk you through each home with detailed texts and stunning photographs.
The owners of these eight amazing homes share their stories on their atomic ranches – how they found their dream home, their successes and challenges on renovation, etc. Their tips and ideas are something that can work for most of us, nothing outrageous! There are also mini-sections of useful tips throughout the book covering colors, flooring, appliances, window covering, etc.
As of this writing, I am less than a month away from closing on my first mid-century modern house. Atomic Ranch: Midcentury Interiors will definitely be one of the best reference books for inspiration to renovate my own atomic ranch.
