Dallas area mid-century modern fans – this year’s White Rock Home Tour will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 16 – 17. The tour, presented by Ed Murchison, Virginia Cook Realtors will feature five modern homes near White Rock Lake.

Proceeds from the tour will benefit Hexter Elementary School. Past years’ proceeds have helped to afford a full-time art teacher and purchase a kiln, drying rack, 10 Orff musical instruments and new playground equipment. This year’s proceeds will benefit campus improvements deemed most critical by the school and the PTA.

The five homes included in this tour are: two mid-century modern homes, two modern new construction homes and one 1970’s contemporary home in Easton Place. “Meet and Greets” will be offered in some of the homes during the tour, where attendees can hear the architectural back-story of these homes from the architects, designers and or builders.

The exhibit will display Ju-Nel Homes artifacts and memorabilia including original Ju-Nel Homes drawings and blueprints, photos and period advertisements. The exhibition will be open to public between April 23 and May 28, 2010. The exhibition will kick off with a speaker forum and reception on April 23 from 6:30pm to8:30pm.
