Elroy Artspace Gallery in Portland, Oregon is featuring Shipwrecks of Sparta, a solo exhibition of new works by George Perrou. In the artistʼs first solo exhibition at the gallery, Shipwrecks of Sparta, Perrou builds upon the creative variation marked in his 2009 small piece series – when he introduced “distressed” backgrounds to his popular “modscapes” and unique atomic-age images.

MIDCENTURY #16 by Jim Ward Morris

If you are a fan of Atomic Ranch magazine like I am, you probably recognized this fabulous mid century modern inspired art by Jim Ward Morris. I was actually considering purchasing his art work for my newly remodeled bedroom, so I was VERY thrilled when he contacted me to inquire about featuring his work on this website. The new works by Jim Ward Morris are titled “MIDCENTURY” and “POSTMODERN.” According to his website, his work has been described as “imagery inspired by advertising from the 1950′s & 1960′s, certainly Joan Holloway and the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency (from the TV show MadMen) would absolutely love this work.” Jim Ward Morris received a MFA from California Institute of the Arts. He lives in Bellingham, Washington with his wife and two children.

I recently updated my front porch and was in a market for a mid century modern inspired decorative art of some sort for my porch wall. I was flipping through the pages of Atomic Ranch magazine and found an ad for Steve Cambronne’s metal art sculpture.
