The 3rd Annual San Francisco 20th Century Modernism Show & Sale (SF20) will be held on September 17-19, 2010 at Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason Center. The event will kick off with a Preview Gala from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, benefiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). Proceeds from the Preview Gala will benefit the museum’s education and exhibition programs that engage residents of the Bay Area, including over 55,000 children, teachers, and families, each year.

This year’s SF20 will feature 45 national and international modernism exhibitors presenting a wide variety of high quality 20th Century furnishings, decorative arts, fine arts and objects. Elroy Artspace Gallery in Portland, Oregon is featuring Shipwrecks of Sparta, a solo exhibition of new works by George Perrou. In the artistʼs first solo exhibition at the gallery, Shipwrecks of Sparta, Perrou builds upon the creative variation marked in his 2009 small piece series – when he introduced “distressed” backgrounds to his popular “modscapes” and unique atomic-age images.

George Perrouʼs art is inspired by mid-century animation, and gives nods to Miro, Kandinsky and Calder. Perrou’s is a style all his own, painting colorful abstractions of reality onto the canvas using retro and modern colors in acrylic. George lives and paints in the creative epicenter of Portland, Oregon.

The 22nd annual Los Angeles Modernism Show & Sale will be held on May 1-3, 2010 at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Air Center. Six-five national and international modernism exhibitors will present a wide variety of high quality 20th Century furnishings, decorative arts, and fine arts in room-setting vignettes. The modernism show and sale will also feature the works of iconic mid century modern designers including Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi and many others.
