It is always a great pleasure to receive emails from readers. They are often artists and shop owners wondering if I would feature their artwork or stores. I greatly appreciate their submissions and admire what they offer.
I recently received an email from Amanda who lives in Pasadena, CA with her husband and two dogs. She creates jewelry using vintage gems from mid-century era and new gold or silver materials. Images featured here are from a gorgeous collection called the Moderne Line. I am amazed by her creation – her jewelry is simple, yet so elegant.
Her email reads:
“The mid century beads you see on each necklace and earrings were made by a European designer from the 1940’s through the early 1960’s. In that time the designer disappeared and the entire collection was lost for decades. The beads were just recently found buried in a factory. All of these original beads were painted on the sides with solid platinum followed by 24k gold to get that gorgeous effect.
To continue the exquisite standard all Moderne jewelry is made with 14k gold filled chain, clasps, ear wires and findings.”
Amanda donates 20% of proceeds from all LilahV sales to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
